Here are my bees,
brazen, blurs on paper,
besotted; buzzwords, dancing
their flawless, airy maps.

Been deep, my poet bees,
in the parts of flowers,
in daffodil, thistle, rose, even
the golden lotus; so glide,
gilded, glad, golden, thus –

wise – and know of us:
how your scent pervades
my shadowed, busy heart,
and honey is art.

The Bees, Carol Anne Duffy

Ecco le mie api,
imprudenti, infatuate, indistinte
tracce su carta; buzzwords che danzano
impeccabili mappe aeree.

Affondano, le mie api poete,
tra pistilli e petali,
in cardi, in rose, narcisi, perfino
nei loto dorati; scivolano così,
splendenti, serene, dorate –

sagge – e sanno di noi:
che il tuo profumo pervade
il mio cuore ombroso, solerte,
e il miele è arte.

Le api, Carol Ann Duffy, a cura di Giorgia Sensi e Andrea Sirotti, Le Lettere, 2014
